Sheffield law firm’s curry quiz raises over £1k for Mistress Cutlers Challenge charity
Trainee lawyers from the Sheffield office of hlw Keeble Hawson have raised more than £1,000 for charity after hosting an Indian quiz and curry event as their contribution to the Mistress Cutlers Challenge.
The lawyers were given £50 to raise money and generate awareness for the Children’s Hospital Charity. The charity is part of Sheffield NHS trust and provides specialist services for over 245,000 patients every year.
The firm which is one of the region’s biggest law practices with offices in Sheffield, Leeds and Doncaster invited clients and contacts to the quiz and curry ‘Quizine’ event held at the 7 Spices Balti Restaurant in Sheffield. The winners of the quiz were RBS and the losing team, who received wooden spoons, was Handlesbanken.
The Mistress Cutler’s Challenge is a new twist on the annual Master Cutler’s Challenge; one of the biggest and exciting fundraising events in Yorkshire. hlw Keeble Hawson took part in the 2012 challenge and raised more than £4,000 in total for Cavendish Cancer Care.
