Sponsor Bestobell sets sail for marine conference
Sheffield-based Bestobell Valves has signed up as a major sponsor of the fourth annual Motorship Gas Fuelled Ships Conference, one of the few exhibitions to be set on board a ship, as part of its ambitious growth plans for new international markets.
The conference, which explores the benefits and solutions of using LNG as a maritime fuel, is taking place aboard M/S Viking Grace, the world’s first passenger cruise vessel to be fuelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The ship will sail on 11 September from Stockholm, Sweden through to Turku in Finland and back the following day.
Bestobell’s sponsorship and presence at a conference which attracts delegates from across the world gives the company the opportunity to demonstrate its expertise in designing and producing cryogenic valves for the marine industry.
Mark Henley, managing director of President Engineering Group Ltd, which owns Bestobell Valves, said: “We are delighted to be involved with this conference as our valves are becoming widely specified for vessels that use LNG as a maritime fuel.
“Holding the conference on a ship that runs on LNG will give a great demonstration of the performance of an LNG-powered ship in terms of greater fuel efficiency and environmental benefits.
“It will also be a great opportunity to network with professionals from across the marine industry to share knowledge and expertise.”
The Gas Fuelled Ships Conference will be attended by international ship owners, ship operators, engine manufacturers, shipbuilders, classification societies, ship designers, shipyards and port and terminal operators from around the world.
Bestobell Valves is a world-leader in the manufacture of LNG cryogenic valves, with over 50 years industrial gas experience and 15 years’ successfully supplying to LNG marine markets.
