Property event gets South Yorkshire on the ‘MOVE’

A property event that will see scores of properties open their doors to the public is expected to get the region on the ‘MOVE’.

Organised by South Yorkshire-based estate agent Blundells, the ‘MOVE – Open House Weekend’ will see up to 200 properties across the region open their doors to the public.

Held to coincide with a series of national events taking place all over the UK by Blundells’ owner Countrywide, the ‘MOVE’ campaign aims to help more buyers, sellers, landlords and tenant complete sales, let properties or rent homes.

Steve Hinshelwood, managing director of Blundells, said: “Activity levels typically tend to dip during the summer as people focus on their holidays. But this hasn’t happened this year and instead the recent upturn in the housing market is maintaining people’s interest in buying or renting a property.

“We expect this trend to continue into the autumn, with an influx of buyers and tenants keen to move before Christmas and so the prospect of an Open House Weekend couldn’t be better timed.”

The MOVE Open House Weekend will be held on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September.

Hinshelwood said: “Sellers and landlords have already started to register for the event, recognising it as an ideal opportunity to promote their property and attract lots of interested buyers and tenants throughout the weekend.

“Previous open house events have been very successful for our customers and we expect this event to be no exception.

“It will be the perfect chance for home movers to see the widest selection of properties within one weekend at a time that is convenient for them, rather than different appointments scattered over days or weeks, which can often make the process much longer.”

Blundells will also be promoting the Government’s new Help to Buy scheme, designed to help first-time buyers get on the housing ladder. Blundells’ mortgage consultants will be available during the event to provide information about the scheme and discuss the right mortgage for potential buyers.

Hinshelwood added: “The MOVE event is another example of the innovative ways we are helping buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords, offering dedicated in-house mortgage advice and a conveyancing solution, ensuring all legal aspects of the property transaction are managed by a professional property lawyer.”
