Wakefield’s Xamax makes six figure investment in drying machines

Xamax, the work and sportswear clothing specialist based in Wakefield, has invested more than £100,000 into the purchase of two new state-of-the-art gas fired screen-printing dryers.

The dryers, manufactured by Tesoma Drylight, will increase Xamax’s production capacity and improve the quality of finished garments for clients.

The Tesoma Drylight machines will revolutionise the drying process for the business allowing the company to ensure that it produces best-in-class products for more than 10,000 customers.

In addition, due to the way that the dryers operate, the new purchases will provide more comfortable working conditions for shop floor operatives at Xamax, as well as delivering savings on running costs.

Managing director, Graham Thompson, commented: “We are always looking at new machinery and know that in order to keep one step ahead of the competition we need to invest in kit that will deliver not only for us but also the client.

“These two new machines will allow us to increase our output, whilst also meeting with the increasing demands from our customers.”

Xamax has recently completed an expansion at the premises on Roundwood Industrial Estate, along with the opening of a purpose-built customer facing store.

Working predominantly with small to medium sized companies, the business provides branded work and sportswear which is manufactured in the UK.
