Awards honour North East contact centre industry
The heroes and heroines of the region’s contact centre industry are set to be honoured, as entries open for this year’s North East Contact Centre awards.
There are more than 145 call centres in the North East, employing around 160,000 people and it is some of these organisations and individuals who will be rewarded as part of a prestigious event being held on November 22.
This year the event is being organised by Sunderland City Council, which has taken over the running of the ceremony to ensure that this important sector of the region’s economy continues to be recognised.
There are ten categories available, giving individual employees, teams and companies the chance to showcase their skills and achievements.
Entries are now being accepted via the website at www.necontactcentreawards.co.uk with a workshop planned for organisations wanting some guidance on how to put together the best case for their company on Sept 12.
Headline sponsor for the event is NRG Resource Solutions, one of the UK’s most experienced recruitment agencies working in the contact centre industry.
Therese Liddle, Managing Director of NRG, said the company was delighted to be involved with the awards.
“The contact centre sector is dynamic and diverse in its portfolio of services and its breadth of employment and career opportunities,” she said.
“As an industry it has responded to consumer demand by investing in structural and technical changes at a rapid pace over the last ten years.
“NRG has worked in partnership with leading contact centres regionally and nationally to develop and implement resourcing and selection strategies to meet this rapid pace of change.
“We are delighted to be involved yet again as the headline sponsor for such an important awards event and look forward to seeing the many successful companies in the region being honoured.”
Cllr Paul Watson, leader of Sunderland City Council said he was thrilled that Make It Sunderland was running the event the local authority started ten years ago.
“The contact centre and call centre industry contribute a huge amount to the region’s economy,” he said.
“And it is really important that their excellent work continues to be recognised. These awards have gone from strength to strength and we are sure that this year’s event will be very well supported.”
Entries for the awards closes on October 18, with the awards dinner taking place at Rainton Meadows Arena on November 22.
Tickets for the Willy Wonka themed event are £70 each and available by contacting enquiries@necontactcentreawards.com. Some sponsorship opportunities still remain – for further details contact Sorted PR on 0191 265 6111.
