Property experts support North East funding bid
The successful bid for European Regional Development Funding by Middlesbrough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency to create further development on Central Park Enterprise Zone has underlined the key role played by the region’s property experts in helping to secure inward investment.
Almost £5.4m of European investment was recently assigned to the project, with further government support bringing the overall funding total to more than £10m.
Newcastle-based JK Property Consultants worked with Middlesbrough Council and the Homes and Community Agency to provide key information for the bidding process that was used to justify the funds being assigned to the North East enterprise zone.
Following a detailed brief, JK’s team of chartered surveyors provided an in depth report into the supply and demand of the regional property market, commenting on the likely success of the proposed scheme, as well as forecasts of demand and supply levels. A valuation report was later also supplied.
Kevan Carrick, partner at JK Property Consultants, explained: “It is very important for our clients that diligent and high quality research is undertaken when formulating development plans to ensure viability and efficiency of the project. In this instance our client required our services as part of a funding bid for European support and we are delighted to have played a role in their ensuing success.
“JK is an RICS-regulated firm so we work to the very highest of standards. This allows us to get involved in all aspects of the commercial property market and to add value for our clients. We’re proud to be playing our part in the development of new business accommodation in Middlesbrough and we regularly provide advice to both private and public sector clients to help them achieve their commercial property goals.”
