ZaZa buffet restaurant comes to the Gate
Bristol-based banqueting restaurant, ZaZa Bazaar is set to become the lastest addition to the Gate in Newcastle after agreeing a lease on a 17,000 sq ft unit.
Property owner, The Crown Estate, say the deal is an effort to rebalance night and day-time economies, and broaden the appeal of the destination.
Hannah Milne, regional portfolio manager for The Crown Estate said: “This letting is a great example of our strategy to improve the overall quality of the offer at the Gate. ZaZa Bazaar provides a unique experience to customers as well as high quality food and will further broaden the Gate’s appeal to a wide range of visitors.”
ZaZa Bazaar is a world food banquet concept where food is prepared in front of customers and the Newcastle restaurant will be its second UK outlet.
Nitin Bhatnagar co-founder and director of Food Services from ZaZa Bazaar said: “Our concept pushes the boundaries of dining, offering customers fantastic high quality food from around the world cooked right in front of them giving an unforgettable experience. We are excited to be coming to the Gate, especially given The Crown Estate’s plans to enhance the centre’s reputation as the North East’s top food and entertainment destination.”
The Crown Estate purchased the Gate for £60 million in 2012. Since then it has been delivering on its strategy for the centre signing new occupiers like the award winning Handmade Burger Co, which opened this summer.
Davis Coffer Lyons acted on behalf of The Crown Estate.
