Nottingham accountants set Survival challenge

An intrepid team from Nottinghamshire accountants Clayton & Brewill is gearing up for the gruelling Survival of the Fittest race in Nottingham on 12th October, in the hope of raising over £3,000 for The Olive Beaumont Foundation dedicated to raising awareness and funding for Rett Syndrome research.

Team captain is Clayton & Brewill’s payroll manager Chloe Hughes:

‘Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder that mostly occurs in young females and affects one in 10,000 girls. It’s a debilitating and progressive disorder and 50% of sufferers will never walk, and 99% will never speak. The Olive Beaumont Foundation does fantastic work locally to raise awareness of the disease and we hope this will spur us on through our training programme and the race itself!’

Organised by Men’s Health magazine, the Survival of the Fittest race starts from Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment, following the River Trent out of the city and back in again. Highlights along the 10 kilometre route include Nottingham Forest Football Ground and the National Watersports centre at Holme Pierrepont where runners get a serious dunking. The race first took place in Nottingham in 2008 and just over 5,000 runners took part last year.

Seven runners are taking part from Clayton & Brewill including newly promoted partner Doug Perry. Donations can be made via the Clayton & Brewill JustGiving page at http://www.justgiving.com/claytonandbrewill.
