Newcastle Hotel is one of Britain’s best places to work
Sleeperz Hotels Newcastle has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the hospitality industry in England and Wales, according to a leading hotel industry recruitment website.
The design-led premium budget hotel in Newcastle city centre has been shortlisted for the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2013 England & Wales by www.caterer.com, the hospitality industry’s leading recruitment website.
The 98-bedroom hotel, situated off Westgate Road close to Newcastle Central station, is shortlisted in the Best Medium Group Hotel Employer category, and has also been ranked in the Top 50 best employers in hospitality in 2013.
Javeed Anwar, head of sales and marketing at Sleeperz Hotels, said: “This is outstanding news and first class recognition for the way Sleeperz run hotels and value employees.
Sleeperz business model is innovative and different in the hospitality industry. Our staff are trained in all aspects of the business, from guest relations to housekeeping, and don’t specialise in one area.
This means they understand and appreciate what is involved in providing an all-round friendly, genuine and outstanding customer service to hotel guests.“
The hotel opened its doors in January 2012 and within a year won a hat-trick of industry awards for architectural excellence, family friendly facilities and customer satisfaction.
The latest nomination is down to the attitude and quality of the people working at the hotel, says general manager Mark Armstrong.
“When we opened in Newcastle, we made a point of hiring local people who epitomised the reputation the North East has for being warm, friendly and down to earth. We’ve assembled a great team of hard working individuals who enjoy coming to work and it’s paid off,” said Mark.
Sleeperz Hotel Newcastle will find out whether it is the best place to work in Hospitality in England and Wales at an awards ceremony in London on September 30th.
