North East architect appointed to design luxury homes

An award-winning architect has been commissioned to design luxury homes on a prestigious new residential development overlooking one of the region’s top golf courses.

Craig Fitzakerly, MD of Fitz Architects said he was delighted to have been given the exciting challenge of creating several of the large 4-6 bedroom houses on the private development on land at Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club.

“Each of the exclusive homes on the development will be individually designed and set in a unique countryside setting,” he said.

“The homes we’ve created are contemporary designs and use only high-quality traditional materials such as natural stone, slate and brick. The homes will maximise natural light and space for perfect family living,” Craig added.

“We’ve made the most of unique setting with a creative use of glass to maximise the fantastic views over the County Durham countryside and the rolling fairways at Ramside.”

The bespoke designs for the stylish family homes include games rooms, libraries and gyms and range in size from 3,500 to 9,500sqft.

Leading regional hotelier and entrepreneur John Adamson is behind the executive development and is delighted work has started: “The property venture at Ramside is an exciting new development for the Group and I’m delighted that we’ve moved on site. Building work has already started and we expect the first of the homes to be complete as soon as Christmas.

“The property development will also be an important catalyst for our expansion plans at Ramside with the addition of a further 48 bedrooms for the hotel and a luxury new Health club and Spa, which home owners can enjoy. Work on our new 18-hole golf course, which will be playable from next summer, has also just been completed.”

Only a handful of the 21 plots remain available for sale at the Ramside development, which is being marketed by Bradley Hall in Durham.
