Helping raise a glass (or two) for charity!

Staff from Analox Ltd relocated from their office to a farm shed for a day to help set up a charity beer festival.

As part of Analox’s commitment to support its local community, five staff from the company volunteered to help with the set-up of The CornShed Beer Festival 2013, in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance. The five staff, all from different departments within Analox, helped to build the stage, set up tables and chairs, install sign-posting, and to fill ‘Welcome Packs’ with the required beer glass and beer tokens.

Paul Branton, Director of Projects for Analox Ltd, commented: “I heard about this charity day, and decided it was a great opportunity for me to help a worthwhile cause, and do something I don’t ever do, that is set up a beer festival! The five of us, whose paths don’t cross much in the course of our normal day to day work, had a great day. It’s really motivational to do something out of the ordinary.

“We also went along to the Beer Festival on Saturday night, and thoroughly enjoyed the music, the atmosphere, and of course the beer!”

The CornShed Beer Festival is one of a number of charity events staged each year at Sexhow Park Farm in Hutton Rudby. The first event, a charity concert, was staged in 1986 by Landowner Judy Kitching in memory of her late husband. She has since staged events almost every year, and has raised over £200,000 for charities. Judy was awarded the MBE in June 2013 for her charitable fundraising.

Judy commented: “Over the years, there has been great support from people around the area, many have been keen to help us out. However, this is the first time a company has donated its staff to help us set up an event, and it made a huge difference. It would have been difficult to be ready without their manpower! We’re hoping that other local companies will see how Analox has helped us, and will be able to lend us their staff in a similar way in future years. We’ve made great new friends, and also raised money for the Great North Air Ambulance, a vital charity which relies on fundraising to ensure it can continue to serve the North of England.”

The CornShed stages a number of events each year in aid of charities, all of which help people living in the North of England.

Analox Ltd is based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, UK, and specialises in the design and manufacture of gas analysers for military and commercial use.
