hlw Keeble Hawson take leap for local charity

Employees from the commercial team at the Leeds office of hlw Keeble Hawson have taken part in a 140ft charity abseil to raise money for St Gemma’s Hospice. The team braved windy conditions to take a step off West One, one of Leeds’ tallest buildings.

hlw Keeble Hawson, one of Yorkshire’s biggest law firms which also has offices in Doncaster and Sheffield, took part in the abseil challenge organised by St Gemma’s Hospice - one of the firm’s nominated charities. So far the team has raised over £450 as part of the fundraising efforts.

Employment lawyer Paul Grindley, a partner at hlw Keeble Hawson, said: “It was both a terrifying thrill and also a pleasure to do this on behalf of such a worthwhile cause. We were extremely fortunate with the weather as it was atrocious the following day and we all managed an SAS style descent of one form or another!”

St. Gemma’s Hospice provides specialist medical and nursing care for people with life threatening illnesses, predominantly cancer, along with support for their families, in the In-patient unit, by the community care nurses, in the day hospice, or as an out-patient.

The abseil challenge is hoping to raise £7000 as a combined total from all the teams that took part.
