HCA chair Robert Napier visits new Isos apartments

A £2m apartment block for older residents in Corbridge has received an official seal of approval from Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) chair Robert Napier.

Trinity Court is a complex with 16 flats to rent or buy through shared ownership. The building provides affordable homes for older people in a very prosperous village where it can be difficult for long term residents to remain, such is the cost of property locally.

It was developed by Isos to replace an existing scheme of 1960s one bedroom flats on the same site.

Mr Napier toured the building with his regional HCA colleagues David Curtis and Bill Carr, and they were hosted by Isos chair Jackie Axelby, board member Roy Ashton and executive director of development Michael Farr.

Scheme officer Danielle Smith ran through the sustainable, low running cost features of the show flat, which will keep the new homes affordable for all the residents.

Trinity Court was designed by HMH Architects and the main contractor was Turney Wylde.

The contemporary-styled building is faced in render and stone, with large double glazed windows, and solar panels on its south facing roof.

Jackie Axelby said: “We are very proud of the high standards we’ve achieved at Trinity Court. It’s a great example of the quality of building we can deliver when working in partnership with the HCA.

“We were pleased to have the opportunity to show Mr Napier the building, and for him to meet some of the residents and hear first hand how the building has made such a positive impact on their lives.”
