Manchester BID brief for PR firm
Manchester agency, Echo PR has been appointed by the Heart of Manchester Business Improvement District (BID) to promote the city centre’s retail offering.
Echo, which won the account following a two-way competitive pitch, will deliver a media strategy to position Manchester city centre as the UK’s leading regional shopping destination.
The recently launched BID, a successful model operating in many cities across the UK and worldwide, aims to drive more footfall into the city’s shops.
CityCo, Manchester’s city centre management company, is delivering the BID, funded by a levy from over 380 retail members, and bringing an extra investment of almost £1m a year into the city centre over the next five years.
CityCo connects businesses with each other, and public agencies, to drive forward initiatives supporting economic growth and helping the city compete on a national and international scale.
Echo will be delivering B2B and B2C campaigns and working with key BID initiatives, including Vogue Fashion’s Night Out next month.
Jane Sharrocks, of Selfridges and chair of Heart of Manchester BID welcomed the appointment.
She said: “We are delighted to welcome Echo PR on board. Their clear understanding of the aims of the BID and the type of coverage we are looking to generate alongside their proactive and creative responses to the challenges of the brief impressed us enormously.”
