150 redundancies as Collectables stores are closed
At least 150 employees of stricken gift retailer Collectables have been made redundant as administrators have drawn trading to a close.
14 of the North East chain’s stores will not re-open during the administration of the business and a skeleton staff of just 14 will remain to help the process.
Administrators at KPMG are looking for a buyer for the business and assets.
Employment specialists from KPMG’s restructuring practice will be ensuring the employees are supported in claiming their unpaid wages and notice pay from the Government’s Redundancy Payments Office.
Any parties wishing to express an interest in the business and/or assets of the company should contact James Lumb on 0191 401 3939 /james.lumb@kpmg.co.uk.
