Activ puts the ring into Ringtons
Independent Newcastle telecoms firm Activ have been appointed by Ringtons to manage its communications.
The 106-year-old family business has appointed Activ to manage its mobile telecoms, a move which has seen Ringtons switch from dealing directly with its previous network provider to the independent supplier.
As part of the deal, Activ has supplied over 300 data enabled mobile devices to the company, which supplies the freshest, highest quality tea and coffees to thousands of homes and businesses across the UK, and will also provide ongoing technical support.
Ringtons’ operations manager, Stephen Killinger said: “At Ringtons we pride ourselves on the relationships that we have developed with other North East-based businesses and we are pleased to be working with Activ.
“Through Activ we have secured a proactive supplier that has worked alongside us to fully understand our company’s needs. Communication via mobile devices with our salespeople through the day is vital to our customer service and Activ has helped us to develop a flexible solution to our mobile requirements which meets all of our business demands and has proven to be more cost effective than dealing with the network direct.
“Located just down the road from our factory on Balliol Business Park, Activ is able to offer the superb local services that we were looking for.”
Having worked closely with Ringtons to identify the best solution for the historic firm’s requirements, Activ ensured a smooth transition across to the new network that took place over just one day, providing a seamless changeover of all devices.
Michael Fitzpatrick, managing director of Activ, added: “Ringtons was looking for the flexibility and agility which an independent local provider could bring after a number of years dealing direct with its previous network provider and we’re delighted to now count one of the UK’s oldest tea merchants amongst our clients.
“As the company delivers its premium tea and coffee products to households and businesses the length and breadth of the country it is critical that it has a reliable and adaptable solution that suits its connectivity and communication needs to a tea.”
