Dr Martens hunt for North East advert star
Famous footwear brand Dr Martens is on the hunt for an “authentic North East Docs wearer” to help promote their newly opened Newcastle store.
The international firm is looking for a star for their Spring/Summer 2015 ad campaign by October 14.
Amy Nelson, UK retail marketing manager, said “Dr. Martens #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign celebrates individuality and the right to self-expression. The campaign represents authentic characters of different ages, backgrounds, occupations and personalities.
“They all have one thing in common – they wear Dr. Martens boots and shoes with pride and passion, an empowering mark of something worth standing for.
“Newcastle’s coal to culture history and its local people have enjoyed a rebellious nature and an independent style over the decades, and we want to know more about them.
“We want to hear from North East people who stand for something unique, rebellious and interesting, to find a real local character to star in our international campaign.”
To enter the competition local characters of any age are being asked to tweet their photo and a statement of what they stand for using @DRMARTENS #STANDFORSOMETHINGNCL until 14 October.
A shortlist of candidates will meet Dr. Marten’s international marketing team to get to know them better, from which one winner that epitomises #STANDFORSOMETHING will be selected to take part in the S/S 2015 campaign.
