Cheshire developer launches new game

Cheshire-based mobile app developer Matmi has launched its latest game – complete with references to Macclesfield, where it was created.

The game, Rollabear, has taken three years to make and mixes the skills of 10-pin bowling with crazy golf in three “magical wonderlands”. It is available from the iTunes store at 69 pence, and operates on iOS, Android, Windows Mobile platforms.

As they move through the levels, players will discover tributes to Macclesfield throughout the 60-level game, including an “I Love Macclesfield” T-shirt and a “Joy Diversion” sign.

Matmi owner Jeff Coghlan said: “It has taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears but we are really proud of what we have done. Players can bounce, dodge, fall and fly through three wonderlands.”

Matmi, which has been based in Macclesfield for 13 years and employs 20 staff, has recently been involved in projects for CBBC and Alton Towers.
