Specialist metal and alloy manufacturers plot growth

Two Rotherham manufacturing specialists have joined forces with the recruitment agency, Elevation, as part of growth plans that will create eight new engineering jobs in the region.

Elevation Recruitment’s specialist engineering and manufacturing team is working with high performance metal specialists, London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Co Limited (LSM) and aluminium alloy and grain refining business, AMG Aluminum, on a full marketing campaign to drive the brands forward and help the businesses fill a range of engineering vacancies from management positions through to technician level.

The new partnership comes as the manufacturing sector reports its sixth consecutive month of growth in September, and Elevation’s John Bohan reports that plans to add to LSM’s and AMG Aluminum’s workforces are further evidence of the surge in demand the agency has seen in the past few months.

He said: “The manufacturing and engineering sector has seen a real boost in recruitment in recent months, particularly as the Yorkshire region leads the way in exporting highly technical and top quality products.

“Over 85% of LSM’s and AMG Aluminum’s products are for the export market and they are great examples of highly specialised producers with a top class reputation for quality. It is this approach that has enabled them to grow and become acknowledged global leaders in sustainable metal and aluminium alloys from their Rotherham bases.

“We are delighted to be working with them on this new recruitment campaign after successfully helping them grow their workforce in the past. We will be using the expertise of our specialist engineering and manufacturing division to help advance their businesses further and to market and fill eight new engineering opportunities with the best candidates in South Yorkshire.”

Chris Roe, operations manager for LSM, said: “Our growth plans are driven by the desire to engage highly motivated and skilled individuals in the engineering and manufacturing sector and give them the chance to help us progress further.”

As part of the new campaign, Elevation will be hosting a recruitment evening on Wednesday 16th of October between 3pm and 8pm at its South Grove House Office, off Alma Road in Rotherham, to give engineers in the region a chance to find out more about the vacancies and find out whether they might be the right candidate for the jobs.
