The Brownie Bar opens first retail outlet in Newcastle
The Brownie Bar, a family business that bakes Great Taste Award-winning chocolate brownies, has marked its third anniversary by opening its first retail outlet at Eldon Garden Shopping Centre in Newcastle city centre.
The business, which was started in 2010 by sisters Rachael and Sarah Cawkwell, has been growing year-on-year. Their rich chocolate brownies and white chocolate blondies are stocked in Fenwick Food Hall, various delis across the North East, and can also be found at numerous food events around the country.
The new Brownie Bar, which is situated near the entrance of Eldon Garden, will be open seven days a week, selling coffees, soft drinks and brownies.
To celebrate the opening, which ties in with National Chocolate Week, The Brownie Bar has 23 varieties of brownies and blondies on offer, including new flavours pecan and maple syrup, peanut butter and pretzel, rhubarb and custard blondie and apple strudel blondie.
Different flavours will be available each week, as well as the bestsellers: rich chocolate, salted caramel, and millionaire brownies.
In addition, customers can try the brand new ‘corkers’, which are chocolate chip cookies with a brownie core, brownie truffles in peanut butter and salted caramel, and a sharing plate of eight mini brownies and ice cream.
Rachael Cawkwell said: “Our goal was always to open our own Brownie Bar – we’re fortunate to have lots of loyal customers and they are constantly asking us where they can buy our brownies. As we’re celebrating three years of trading, and found the perfect location in Eldon Garden, it seemed like the right time.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers old and new, and introducing exciting new flavours and products to our range.”
