Hearing aid firm completes moves to new HQ

The high-tech hearing aid manufacturer, Phonak, has completed its move into new headquarters on Centre Park Warrington.

Phonak Group Limited opened in Warrington in 1997 with just 10 staff and now, due to sustained growth, they have moved to larger premises.

The European manufacturing centre employs over 200 staff. The ground floor of the building contains logistics and production departments with the upstairs floor offering a staff restaurant / conference facility, with room for 120 people, plus a training academy, Audiology Room and eight meeting rooms.

Phonak Managing Director Stuart Neilson said: ’Warrington is a great place for us to do business, with excellent connectivity due to its strong transport links and proximity to the airports and the area has also provided us with a rich pool of talent and skills to enable us to find the right people for the organisation. This new facility for custom made hearing devices will enable us to manufacture products for 7 different countries around the world.

“This move is a very natural transition, as the company has expanded over last 15 years we have grown from one building to three. This new building enables us to bring all of those staff together in one place and provides the space we need for our long term growth plans over the next 10-15 years.

“We are keen to keep the business in Warrington and in the North West and we will hope to provide more jobs as we continue to expand. We will be creating an inspiring place for aspiring people to work in the future”.

Warrington & Co. played a key role in the move.

Cllr Terry O’Neill, Leader of Warrington Borough Council, said: ‘This is a great example of an international market leader that has developed, grown and put down roots in our town choosing Warrington as the place to be. Phonak’s new facility keeps them at the cutting edge of technology, innovation and manufacturing in their field. It is an excellent example of the proactive approach of this council. We wholeheartedly support Phonak.“

Steve Park, managing director, Warrington & Co., said: “It is great that we were able to assist Phonak in their expansion and construction of their new facility. From an initial discussion regarding their operation in the town we were delighted to be able to act as a guide and intermediary, liaising and facilitating the process with the site owners and helping them through planning. The new building, like the business, is world class.”
