New recruit focused on serving region’s businesses

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors continues to invest in its Business Law Team with the appointment of a new solicitor.

Gemma Smith, 29, has recently joined the Commercial Litigation department of the Wynyard Park based team. Gemma, from Middlesbrough, brings several years’ experience of insurance litigation, having worked in this field in both Leeds and Newcastle since she completed her qualifications in 2011.

Gemma said: “The move to Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors is a fantastic step for me. Working within a busy, multi-disciplinary law team, I can now extend my experience with new challenges and a wider variety of work, and learn from the expertise around me. It has also fulfilled my aim of moving back to the Tees Valley. I am now keen to build my business connections in this area.”

Gemma, who is from Middlesbrough, studied Sociology with Law at Durham University before completing her GDL and LPC at York College of Law . Away from the office, she is a keen horse rider.
