New Biomass Consultant for leading Energy firm
The Centre for Green Energy welcomes new biomass consultant – Jason Cook, who brings over 15 years of biomass engineering expertise to the organisation.
The Centre for Green Energy is a leading installer of biomass energy (wood pellet, wood chip and log gasification) in residential and commercial properties in the North.
Jason Cook has joined as a new biomass project engineer. His role will involve project managing large wood pellet, chip and log installations for domestic and commercial clients in the North East of England. His appointment reflects the huge increase in demand for biomass energy in the region.
Jason has spent the last few years undertaking a PhD at the University of Edinburgh, on the analysis of bioenergy systems. He was awarded a coveted Business and Enterprise Fellowship from the Royal Society of Edinburgh to commercialise biomass gasification technologies for farm scale application in the UK.
Previously to working in the biomass energy industry, Jason was the Chief Operations officer for a mining corporation in Kenya, a diamond mine in Angola, West Africa and as an engineer for an exploratory mineral company in Africa!
His appointment comes a few months after The Centre for Green Energy relocated to a larger showroom in Hexham. Alistair Marsh, Director said “Jason brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that has been built up across a wide range of industries. His expertise will help drive forward our growth plans. We are so busy due to the launch of the domestic renewable heat incentive, that Jason will be able to assist the project management of biomass energy with our farming, domestic and commercial clients.”
Commenting on his appointment, Jason said: “I am very excited to have joined the team and relocating from Edinburgh to the beautiful Tynedale area. I am very much looking forward to applying my biomass engineering experience to various installations across the region.”
