Chirton Engineering Ltd secure £200k funding to create 16 jobs

North Shields-based Chirton Engineering have secured £200k from the Lets Grow campaign and now aim to double turnover within the next three years.

It is the second tranche of money that Chirton have received from the RGF, having been successful in round 1, and will now take on another 16 workers to bring their total workforce to 69.

Chriton representatives including CEO Paul Strewart, business develpment manager Michael Morris and apprentice Ryan Tweddle recently met the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg in Newcastle as he launched round 5 of the RGF.

A statement from Chirton said: “The RGF is a fantastic fund which enables companies to enhance their business in a realistic time scale but also gives them the opportunity to further develop at a later stage if they so choose to do so.

“Chirton are committed to the long term training of the future engineers using our apprentice programme. and it is reassuring to know that if you have the right bid and are realistic in your projections that help is at hand in the form of the RGF.”
