Full house at Lancashire shopping parade
Business is booming at a West Lancashire shopping parade, which is fully let for the first time in several years.
The Digmoor shopping parade in Skelmersdale has been brought up to full occupancy by the recent opening of the Mr Ink Tattoo Studio.
Other newcomers include an eastern European food store, a furniture store and the Bright Beginnings Nursery which opened new premises on the parade earlier in the year.
Joanne Hill, Bright Beginnings Nursery director, said: “We are thrilled to be back at the parade and to be working with people from the area. I grew up in Digmoor and we used to come to the parade a lot when we were children. It’s great to see all the units occupied as this is a real boost for the community of Digmoor.”
In addition to these new businesses, the parade offers a range of other services including a pharmacy, dentist, post office, optician and a dressmaker plus other retailers. There is also plenty of free parking nearby.
Councillor Adrian Owens, portfolio holder for Regeneration said: “There’s no doubt that it has been a difficult time for the retail sector and the letting of the final unit at Digmoor Parade is positive news for the local area. This is confirmation of the strength of the local community and of the shopping parade itself as a retail location.”
The parade comprises 22 units in total, 21 of which are owned by West Lancashire Borough Council. The Council owns a range of business properties in Skelmersdale including offices and industrial units which are available to let.
