Leighton Group plots major expansion
Leighton Group is planning to double its workforce at Goodman’s Rainton Bridge Business Park in Sunderland.
Leighton, the parent company of firms such as SaleCycle, Workcast, MyWorld and Courage Creative, will grow their workforce from 150 to between 250 and 300 people.
The firm has now signed a new five-year deal to occupy the entire Chase House building to accommodate the growth.
Gerard Callaghan, co-director at Leighton Group, said: “Three years after relocating to Chase House we have already outgrown our space and are now planning for continuing expansion.
“In the next five years, we expect to double our workforce as we move to increase our presence in markets in which we are already well established.
“Goodman has gone out of its way to offer us a flexible solution to our space requirements and by taking on additional space at the Chase Building we will be able to plan for the future without having to move office, which will be welcomed by staff.”
Rainton Bridge Business Park is owned, developed and managed by global integrated property group, Goodman.
Regional development director, Niall McGlip, said: “Leighton Group has been one of Rainton Bridge Business Park’s big success stories and we are proud to be able to continue to support their continued growth.
“By working closely with our partners we have identified a solution which enables the company to remain in its present location, yet still allow for a significant expansion through the best possible use of the available space.
“We wish them the greatest success in the years ahead.”
