Energy bosses hauled before MPs following price hikes
Bosses from the six main UK energy suppliers have been asked to appear before a committee of MPs following recent news of price hikes.
The Energy and Climate Change Committee will question the bosses next week to establish the reasons and justification for the price rises.
A statement from Sir Robert Smith MP, chair of the Committee, said: “The Committee has today decided to call in the energy bosses in the context of the latest wave of price increases.”
The hearing also aims to establish the difference in pricing policy between energy suppliers; and better transparency of energy company profits.
The public can view the hearing on Tuesday October 29 at 2.30pm, online via Parliament TV.
