Admiral PR shortlisted for national award
Following its success at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards – North East, Admiral PR is celebrating again after being shortlisted for a national social media award.
The Newcastle-headquartered strategic communications consultancy has been named as one of the finalists in the ‘Innovation’ category at this year’sUK Social Media Awards, along with another five organisations from across the country.
The ‘Innovation’ category of the awards recognises social media innovation in the development of a platform or application. Admiral has been shortlisted for creating SociaLIGHT – the agency’s own sophisticated social media measurement tool, which scores the level and quality of organisations’ social media output and achievement.
Commenting on the shortlisting, Admiral PR Founder and Managing Director, Georgie Cameron, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised for SociaLIGHT in such a competitive category alongside big brand names such as Auto Trader and Greater Manchester Police.
“Social media is changing the way organisations and their publics communicate by allowing them to engage directly with their customers and stakeholders. The result is a shift in the balance of power from organisations to consumers. It is increasingly important, therefore, that executives understand this change in dynamics and plan according. To do this, they need to have a baseline of evidence which helps them to establish where they are on their social media journey and how they rate against their competitors. That’s where SociaLIGHT comes in.
“In April, we launched SociaLIGHT which demonstrates an organisation’s social media success through meaningful measurement. This investment has paid dividends because as more companies turn to it they can support customer engagement, retention and service.”
SociaLIGHT examines over fifteen different social media and online ‘markers’. All the key social media channels are included such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube and LinkedIn. Factors including the quality and quantity of content and user engagement are assessed together with the number and quality of back links to an organisation’s website.
The organisation is then awarded a score out of 100 indicating its current place on its social media journey. Once an organisation knows where they score on their social media journey, Admiral is then able to develop a strategy and advise on the best tactics to develop the organisation’s use of social media.
The awards, formerly known as the Some Comms, celebrate the finest talent in UK social media communications. This year, the awards ceremony will be held in London at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday 24 October.
