Cundall seeks graduates and experienced engineers

Newcastle-based engineering consultancy Cundall is expanding its global operations and is looking to grow its workforce with experienced engineers and graduates alike.

The firm say they will be visiting university recruitment fairs at Newcastle, Edinburgh Napier, Southampton and Loughborough over the next month.

Since January the Cundall has increased its workforce by 26% overall and 24% at its Newcastle office. Between July and October, the Newcastle workforce increased 15%.

Carole O’Neill, HR Partner says, “We are currently experiencing an increase in our recruitment at the Newcastle office, this also mirrors our growth throughout the UK.

“Nationally, since January, we have had a 26% growth in our staffing levels. We are delighted that we continue to employ the best engineers in the UK and are looking forward to recruiting even more staff to join our team.”

There have also been a number of high-profile promotions at the Newcastle branch.

Paul Hards, who joined Cundall in 1995 as a Graduate Engineer, has been promoted to Structural Partner, joining existing Structural Partners Gordon Reid and John McArdle.

Paul specialises in the retail and residential sectors and has mass experience in the design of substructure and superstructure solutions utilising all building materials.

He said: “I have been with Cundall for almost 20 years and I am excited to see what the next 20 years will bring.” Other promotions in the Newcastle Structural team includes, Duncan Cox as Senior Associate, Andrew English as Associate. Duncan specialises in retail, healthcare and lifestyle projects and has just recently celebrated 10 years with Cundall.

“Andrew has been instrumental to promoting Cundall’s BIM capability in the North East, he also sits on the Committee of the North East Regional BIM Hub.

In the Building Services team, Alex Bryden has been promoted to Senior Associate after re-joining Cundall after 19 years.

Alex specialises in design, supervision and management of projects, especially projects relating to electrical designs or security systems.
