£2 million investment at Seaham Hall spurs award nomination
Luxury County Durham hotel Seaham Hall is reaping the rewards of a £2 million investment as it shortlisted in this year’s North East Tourism Awards.
Judges recognised the the upgrading to spa and public areas which has taken place under the hotel’s new ownership.
Ross Grieve, the hotel’s general manager, said: “We are delighted that this unique property has been nominated for such a prestigious award.
“There has been a great deal of investment in Seaham Hall and that has clearly been recognised.”
The Georgian country house is set in 37 acres of landscaped gardens and houses the award-winning Serenity spa and two fine dining restaurants, including the renowned Blunos Sea Grill.
The North East England Tourism Awards are run by NewcastleGateshead Initiative in partnership with a number of organisations.
The awards honour the achievements of hotels, venues and service providers working in the tourism industry across the region in 15 categories.
Winners of the awards then go on to compete in the Visit England Awards for Excellence, pitched against major venues and attractions from across the UK
