North East entrepreneurs to host technology workshop

A workshop to help entrepreneurs ensure technology can help improve productivity and performance takes place next week.

Business owners and senior managers are invited to attend the Entrepreneurs’ Forum event to hear expert views on how – when used in the right way – innovation and investment in new technology, business efficiency and developing a more productive team can bring competitive advantage.

Nicola Short, executive director of the Forum, said: “If troubling economic times taught us anything, it’s been to run more efficiently, get the best out of our people and sidestep barriers to growth.

“Yet improving performance and maximising profits can be hampered by the very things that we’ve been told are the keys to success in the modern era – organisational processes and technology.

“At this event, which is part of our Exchange programme, our panel will share their views and experience to help others get the most out of these advances.”

The interactive workshop, led by Andy Hanselman, will include:

  • Raymond Wright, global head of partnership at Lead Forensics, a business to business technology platform that tells customers which business has visited their website with the aim of improving conversion and lead generation;
  • Justin Short, director at On:trac Software Solutions, an IT solutions company which helps build strong businesses and improve performance by, amongst other things, introducing business efficiency into workflows;
  • Ian Green, global training manager at Nissan, one of the most efficient car plants in the world, who will share some of its globally recognised practices, process and training methods to get the most out of its people;
  • Graham Sleep, co-owner at Improvement Architecture, which helps businesses to look at their organisational processes and make sustainable business improvement in line with ambitions.

The informal event, which will include opportunities for networking, is on Tuesday, November 5, from 9am-1pm at the Skills Academy of Sustainable Manufacturing & Innovation (SASMI), Nissan, Sunderland.
