Marketing Cheshire appoints new ambassador
Marketing Cheshire has announced that entrepreneur Mark Boler is the latest member of its Cheshire Ambassador Programme.
The programme acts as a promotional platform to sell the county as a destination to its various audiences through its core programmes: Invest Live, Study, Visit or Meet.
Founder and CEO of The Mere Gold Resort & Spa, Mark Boler grew up in Cheshire and most recently led The Mere’s £15 million redevelopment of The Mere Golf Resort & Spa, which has subsequently become an award-winning destination just outside Knutsford.
He said: “My roots are firmly grounded in Cheshire having grown up in the county myself, developed The Mere resort and established my family locally too. I’ve always been passionate about promoting the diversity within the region.
“This new ambassador position formalises a role that I have been doing for a long time. I look forward to working closely with Marketing Cheshire to ensure the county benefits from the investment required to continue its position as one of the best places to live, study and work in the UK.”
Katrina Michel, CEO of Marketing Cheshire, said: “We want Cheshire to be recognised as a region bursting with opportunity, for visitors, students and business people. Mark Boler is an established business leader in Cheshire and he has already helped to establish The Mere as an excellent destination for business and leisure activities in the county.
“We’re excited to have him on board, helping to spread the word about the benefits of working, living, studying and visiting Cheshire on a national and international platform.”
This year, the resort has been awarded the prestigious 2013 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site and short-listed for two recent awards, Good Spa Guide and Rising Star of the Year, Marketing Cheshire. In 2012, it received accolade for Marketing Initiative of the Year.
