Westfield strikes gold with top Investors in People award

Sheffield-based health insurer, Westfield Health, has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People Gold status.

The much coveted accreditation has been presented to Westfield in recognition of its commitment to staff involvement, training and development, and its continuous work to improve business processes and practices.

Jill Davies, Chief Executive of Westfield Health, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded Investors in People Gold status. It places Westfield alongside the crème de la crème of UK businesses and is true testimony to our ongoing commitment to develop our staff.

“It’s the enthusiasm and energy of our staff that keeps driving Westfield Health forward and we believe wholeheartedly in nurturing our employees and developing their full potential.

“By providing an open and honest culture and encouraging employees to share their successes and have the courage to explore and offer new ideas, we can ensure a healthy, sustainable future for both our company and the customers we care for.”

Westfield’s Investors in People (IIP) accreditation comes just weeks after the insurer secured five top industry awards in less than one month.

It also follows the company’s high profile rebrand in September, which saw Westfield unveil a new logo and the strapline: ‘Harder Working Health Cover’, in a move to better align itself with its core values. .

Jill added: “The IIP Gold standard captures the entire essence of our recent rebrand which was created to embody Westfield’s core values of being an ethical and courageous company, committed to excellence for its people and its customers.

“In an age where consumers are holding the organisations they deal with to the highest ethical standards, we will keep on working harder to assure our position as a market leader, world class operator, a good corporate citizen and a great employer.”

Founded almost a century ago in 1919, Westfield Health has grown to become one of the UK’s leading health insurance providers, holding the largest market share in the corporate-paid health cash plan sector.

Through its Charitable Trust, the company has donated more than £11million to the NHS and medically-related charities since 1996.
