Reds sign the pledge to help unemployed youngsters

Manchester United Football Club and Foundation have signed the Partington Pledge and committed to offer employment support to young people in Partington and Carrington at the Club’s Carrington Training Ground.

The Partington Pledge is a joint initiative between Trafford Council and DWP asking local employers to commit to help young unemployed people in the area make the first steps into employment with the support of local businesses.

By signing up to the Partington Pledge, local businesses commit to helping and supporting young people, offering opportunities to help them get into work. Financial incentives are in place for firms able to offer jobs or apprenticeships..

Under the Pledge, businesses are encouraged to help young people by

· Offering a job

· Recruiting an apprentice

· Offering work experience

· Providing mentoring support

· Giving practical help, such as assistance with CV writing, or preparing for interview
