National recognition for 51 DWF staff
Business law firm DWF has had 51 associates and partners at its offices in Manchester and Liverpool noted as leaders in their fields in an independent guide to the UK legal market, Chambers UK 2014.
The 2014 rankings highlight 41 associates and partners in the Manchester team as having the highest level of knowledge and expertise in their respective areas, which include: banking & finance, competition/European law, corporate/M&A, employment, family/matrimonial, health & safety, information technology, intellectual property, licensing, litigation, local government, pensions, personal injury: mainly defendant, planning, police law: mainly defendant, private client, real estate, real estate litigation, restructuring/insolvency, social housing and transport: road: regulatory.
Newly added for this year are Alan Sturrock (private client), Ian Slater (personal injury: mainly defendant), James Szerdy (banking & finance), Jonathan Branton (competition/European law and local government), Jonathan Edwards (banking & finance), Paul Davies (private client), Tim Green (pensions) and Vikki Woodfine (transport: road: regulatory).
The ten associates and partners in the Liverpool team are also highlighted, in areas which include: banking litigation, corporate/M&A, employment, licensing, litigation, personal injury: mainly defendant, private client and real estate.
New additions from the Liverpool office are: Jamie Campbell (employment), Andrew Nichol (real estate), Graham Sidlow (banking litigation), David Young (personal injury: mainly defendant) and Susan Sherry (private client).
Nationally, the firm has the fourth most rankings of any UK law firm beating Magic Circle, national and City firms. A total of 141 DWF partners are identified as experts in their specialist areas including 23 partners newly recognised in the guide.
The firm, which has experienced a year of remarkable growth through four strategic mergers and an acquisition, has been recommended in 89 practice areas overall, a 10 per cent increase on last year’s results.
