Free ‘lunch and learn’ event for engineers
Two organisations have joined forces to hold a free ‘lunch and learn’ event for North East engineers.
TTE and the Academy of Joint Integrity want to enhance the range of skills development programmes there are for engineers and technicians working or living in the region.
Part of that will include a specialist Leak Free Joint Integrity ‘lunch and learn’ seminar taking place on Teesside on Tuesday November 19.
Running from 12noon through to 3.30pm, the free event has been designed for engineers involved in Flange Assembly, integrity issues and mechanical sources of ignition in Hazardous Areas.
In particular, the seminar will focus on ECITB – Route to Competence Critical Bolting Units, latest integrity standards, new gasket technology as a reactive maintenance tool for corroded flanges and smart gasket as a preventative maintenance tool.
TTE group business development manager John Taylor said: “The seminar will be very informative and will provide an opportunity for individuals involved in processes requiring a flange gasket or containing mechanical sources of ignition in hazardous areas to enhance their knowledge and understanding.”
Taking place at TTE’s specialist training facility in South Bank, Middlesbrough, the event will provide delegates with a hands-on practical demonstration using the Academy’s Flexitallic Sustainable Training Unit.
The demonstration aims to highlight the importance of correct bolt up procedures through the clear, easy to interpret load monitoring software.
Alex Lattimer, Training Director for The Academy of Joint Integrity, added: “The seminar provides a useful platform for anyone involved in flange assembly, pipeline integrity issues and hazardous areas to learn and discuss issues facing their industries.”
The demonstration will be followed by a question and answer session, which will provide the opportunity for individuals at the event to discuss issues with TTE and Academy engineers.
The Academy of Joint Integrity, which is part of The Flexitallic Group, provides accredited, bespoke and open courses covering all aspects of joint integrity.
Its open and accessible training is available for individuals or teams of engineers and can be delivered on site or at one of the Academy’s dedicated training venues.
The training utilises specialist flange joint assembly rigs to give the best mix of practical hands-on training and classroom learning.
