Green business energy specialist relocates to Wilton

A leading provider of energy efficient technologies for business has moved into new premises to help it grow.

Energy Maintenance Company (EMC) has relocated its offices to Wilton Centre, the 75-acre business, science and technology park located between Redcar and Middlesbrough, with the aim of attracting new business from the oil and gas sector.

Specialising in critical power, power quality and power management equipment, EMC provides technologically advanced and energy efficient engineering technologies to enable businesses to meet their Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC).

EMC works with companies across the UK and EMEA, and the north-east including clients based at the Wilton International site, which neighbours its new office location.

Managing Director, Shaun Nugent, says the centre’s proximity to current and potential new business was one of the reasons for the decision to move.

He said: “The new location best suits our needs for office area, location of staff to their residence, and importantly being in the hub of a large number of potential business customers already located at, or close to, the Centre such as Sembcorp and Lotte which are existing customers.

“It’s EMC’s plan now to diversify and move towards the oil and gas industry, concentrating on engineering, construction and projects.

“We’re delighted to be located in a vibrant location that will hopefully develop our customer base and business potential.”

EMC, which currently employs 13 staff, has an impressive portfolio based predominantly around energy efficient data centre installations including critical power systems such as uninterruptible power systems, generators, power factor correction systems and switchgear.

“Our engineers have a combined experience of over 150 years in the specialist areas we deal with and we use these skills to provide the best technical and most commercially viable solutions available,” added Mr Nugent.

In order to reach new markets for the expertise EMC offers in providing greener ways to manage power usage, it is vital to be based at the heart of industry and innovation.

Wilton Centre site director Steve Duffield said: “It’s very good news to be welcoming another new tenant that is focused on innovation and we wish them every success.”
