JD Wetherspoons to invest £1 million in Humber development
The Leeds office of Colliers International has sold the freehold of the former Amishi Nightclub on the High Street in Cleethorpes to national pub operator JD Wetherspoon for an undisclosed sum.
The prominent and strikingly painted double fronted property once brought celebrities to Cleethorpes as a popular nightclub and has historically recorded good trading.
JD Weatherspoon plans to invest over £1million to revamp the venue and create around 40 jobs.
Leigh Parsons, Director of Licensed & Leisure at Colliers International in Leeds said, “Cleethorpes has been without a Wetherspoon outlet for far too long and we are pleased to have played our role in safeguarding the future of this iconic venue. I am confident that this outlet will be a major success for one of the best operators in the business.”
Colliers sold the property on the instructions of O’Brien Interiors in Oxford and was asking for offers around £400,000.
