Another warehouse let at Manchester Airport for MAG
MAG Property has let 20,000 sq ft of warehouse space to UCH Logistics, at the World Freight Terminal at Manchester Airport.
Based in Staines, Middlesex, UCH provides specialist transport and security screening services to the airfreight industry. This latest letting follows on from MAG’s three large office deals with international companies earlier this year.
John Atkins, Property Director for the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), said: “We are delighted to welcome UCH to the World Freight Terminal at Manchester Airport. Growing our logistics credentials is a key focus for MAG Property, and this letting makes achieving that objective one step closer.
“ As we look to develop our logistics offering with the Airport City project, this letting is another sign of the confidence in our product but also the need to grow this area of our business even more.
“The World Freight Terminal is a constantly expanding cargo community comprising some of the world’s leading freight and logistics businesses, so UCH will be in good company.”
Nova Barker, General Manager from UCH Logistics in Manchester said: “Manchester Airport provided the ideal location for UCH Logistics to site a northern base and the whole letting process was easy and efficient. The warehouse will have state of the art equipment installed, including leading products in the world of security screening. UCH looks forward to working closely with MAG Property in the future.”
MAG Property was advised by p3 Property Consultants for the deal.
Rob Tilley from p3 said: “Manchester Airport is one of the region’s best connected business locations, with an unrivalled range of transport links available to any company who takes up space on site. Following on from two lettings earlier in the year, this deal illustrates that the World Freight Terminal’s unique location will continue to be popular with logistics operators.”
The World Freight Terminal is located at the south west side of Manchester Airport with the M56 less than a quarter of a mile away. Manchester Airport currently handles around 100,000 tonnes of air cargo annually with room for future cargo growth.
MAG Property – formerly MAG Developments – is the property, development and facilities management arm of UK airport group MAG, owner of Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports.
MAG Property is also leading the £800 million flagship Enterprise Zone development project, Airport City, at Manchester Airport. The south side of Airport City will become a 1.4 million sq ft World Logistics Hub, offering a mix of medium and small sized units ranging from 7,500 to 200,000 sq ft creating over 1,800 new jobs.
