Small Businesses Converge on Hartlepool For FSB Annual Dinner

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in the North East is hosting its annual dinner and regional AGM on Thursday 21st November at Hartlepool College of Further Education.

There are over 80 small businesses and guests signed up to attend the event which will hear speeches from the FSB National Chairman, John Allan, and Iain Wright MP, Shadow Minister for Competitiveness & Enterprise at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

The event will hear how small businesses are the engine of the recovery for the economy in the North East and the plans for the FSB in the region over the next year.

Ted Salmon, FSB North East Regional Chairman, said:

“We’re delighted to be hosting our Regional AGM and dinner at the Hartlepool College of Further Education. The FSB in Hartlepool has been doing a lot of work with the College and we’re looking forward to the students deliver a superb event.

“Small businesses are critical to the recovery of the economy in the North East. Across the region small businesses employ over 333,000 people and contribute £24bn to the regional economy meaning the needs of our members and small businesses cannot be ignored.

“Our National Chairman, John Allan, will outline the fantastic work that we have been doing across the UK to help raise the voice of small businesses within the highest echelons of Government and the plans for the year ahead.

“We’ll also hear from Iain Wright MP, Shadow Minister for Competitiveness & Enterprise at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, on how small businesses are crucial for economic growth across the UK.
