Bradford council programme enables recruitment firm growth
Dental recruitment specialist’Crowns Recruitment’, has created new local job opportunities and is rapidly expanding thanks to Bradford Council’s high-growth enterprise programme, Rising Stars.
Bradford based ‘Crowns’ specialises in dental nurse permanent, temporary and locum recruitment. Since the launch of the business in 2008 by Robert Clabby the business has opened a second office in Rochdale and works with over 250 practices across the North.
Formerly a recruitment franchise owner, Mr Clabby saw a gap in the market in the dental profession and turned to Rising Stars to maximise the opportunity.
“I was used to the business support that came with ready-made franchise so starting my own business from a standing start was a new challenge where I was really going it alone,” said Mr Clabby.
With the help and guidance of a Rising Stars growth adviser, Crowns undertook a business review to identify and address its strengths and weaknesses. “The advice was essential in giving the business clarity and identifying locations for expansion. I also have access to PR and social media support if needed because currently it is all created in house. Working with Rising Stars is better than being a franchise owner because I have the freedom to take my business where I want but the support to make the right decision,” he added.
Rising Stars business services manager Carolyn Coleman said: “Mr Clabby has all the potential to become an entrepreneur of a fast growing business but without the support network of a franchise he felt that he needed the skills and expertise of Rising Stars to commence his ambitious business growth plans.”
Coun Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for employment and skills, said: “It is great to see this local company capitalising on the support Rising Stars has provided by continuing to grow its business and create new jobs.”
