£25k investment at Bannatyne Hotel in Darlington

The Bannatyne Hotel in Darlington has enhanced its garden with an investment in the region of £25k to provide private dining and enhance the experience of couples getting married.

The hotel has commissioned luxury garden room designer Crown Pavilions to create a bespoke installation for the Darlington hotel, which was officially opened by owner Duncan Bannatyne, entrepreneur and star of BBC2’s Dragon’s Den.

The Canadian cedar pavilion, which has removable side panels, will be available to customers at the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, Maxine’s, as well as for use by guests at functions including weddings and private parties.

It is the second time The Bannatyne Group has commissioned the company to design, build and install a garden room at one of their hotels, with the first erected at The Bannatyne Spa Hotel, in Hastings, in 2007.

Duncan Bannatyne said: “We commissioned this garden room to further improve our beautiful hotel gardens and give our guests something a little bit different. It’s a stunning addition to the hotel, which will undoubtedly enhance the experience of our customers.

“As well as being great for weddings, the pavilion can be booked for private dining, and would be perfect for a special meal or even a marriage proposal. It will also be great for anyone who’d like to dine al fresco during wetter months or if the British weather lets us down.”

Luke Dejahang, director at Crown Pavilions, said: “I am thrilled that Duncan Bannatyne has chosen a Crown Pavilion once again for his hotel group. The first Crown Pavilion, installed six years ago in Bannatyne Hotel, Hastings, has withstood the test of time and looks just as good today as it did when the ribbon was first cut.

“As the co-founder of Crown Pavilions, I am fiercely proud of the fact that our pavilions are of such a high calibre that, like the Canadian forests from where they originate, they withstand the wind, the rain, the sun year in, year out. From the generous dimensions of the timber to the extra plushness of the cushions, Crown Pavilions is the perfect match for anyone who appreciates quality, style and good design.”
