Bolton fostering agency acquire South East rivals
Fostering Solutions – one of the UK’s largest independent fostering agencies – has acquired Swan Fostering Limited for an undisclosed fee.
The Bolton-based company purchased the entire share capital of SwanFostering, as part of a continued drive to strengthen its position in the market.
Law firm Gateley acted on behalf of Fostering Solutions. The legal team was headed up by corporate partner, Charles Glaskie, and included corporate associate, Richard Almond, Uzma Ahmed (corporate paralegal) and Simon Maddox, real estate associate.
David Johnson, managing director of Fostering Solutions, said: “SwanFostering is a highly-regarded agency that has built up an excellent reputation in recent years for providing 24/7 support, training and development to fostercarers in mid and southern England.
“We believe the Hertfordshire-based company is a perfect fit and natural extension for Fostering Solutions, helping us to maintain high quality fostercare and child care practices that ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.”
Fostering Solutions has 20 offices in eight regions across the UK including the North West. It works closely with local authorities in each of those areas to provide a wide range of services, such as short and long-term placements, short breaks and respite care, as well as intensive support and emergency placements.
Charles Glaskie, head of Gateley Corporate group, commented: “FosteringSolutions has developed into one of the UK’s leading independent fosteringagencies over the last 13 years, through a combination of organic growth and mergers and acquisitions.
“The purchase of a like-minded agency, such as Swan Fostering, presents the company with an exciting opportunity to extend its geographical presence, build stronger relationships with key local authorities, while strengthening its service offering and training provision in the fostering sector.”
Swan Fostering was established in 2003. It works with local authorities across nine counties across the south and Midlands.
