Frank rolls out the carpet for budding stars of the future
Frank’s The Flooring Store is setting the scene for a new generation of drama students at a County Durham school.
The Shildon branch of Frank’s is donating the new carpets for the drama studio at the town’s Sunnydale Community College, after the old flooring was damaged.
The carpet has been laid by local fitter Danny McGilvery, who works closely with Phil Maguire, who runs the Shildon store, while the glue and accessories were donated by Floorwise (North East).
Phil said: “We heard about the problems with the existing flooring at the studio after the CreateCity Group, our parent company, started working with students at the school on a branding project centred around the business park where we are situated.
“We wanted to get involved and support our local young people, so we agreed to provide the carpets and use our supply chain to ensure they provide a great environment for the students to learn in.”
Yvonne Scott, teacher at Sunnydale Community College, said: “The whole project was a great success.
“The students got a lot out of the activities and learned the importance of community and work related learning .We are proud to be involved with local businesses in such a meaningful way.”
