64% increase in new sales roles reports Yorkshire recruitment firm
‘Substantial’ increase in new roles for Sales and Marketing staff across Financial Services and SME Manufacturing is indicative of wider recovery, says Elevation Recruitment
The recruitment agency’s Sales and Marketing division has revealed that 64% of all instructions to recruit so far this quarter have been for newly created roles – with particular growth in the financial services and SME manufacturing industries.
With businesses looking to invest in growth, the appointment of Business Development Managers, Senior Account Managers, Sales Managers and Field Sales Representatives has taken priority, according to Associate Director Sarah-Lee Neesam.
“As confidence in the economy grows, businesses are once again demonstrating a desire to grow themselves. It’s inevitable that they are looking to put in place a workforce that can help facilitate,” Sarah-Lee said.
Head of Sales and Marketing and based in Elevation’s Leeds office, Sarah-Lee believes that the increase in new roles being created is having a wider impact – with opportunities for professionals to start considering making that next career move.
She said: “It’s no secret that professionals at all levels have been extremely cautious since the economy slowed. Those who are in secure roles have chosen to stay put, often at the expense of career progression. This isn’t the case anymore.
“With so many new roles being created across a whole host of industries it is inevitable that existing roles are being vacated – providing opportunity for those looking to make their next move on the career ladder.”
Sarah-Lee went on to say that there has been a 78% increase in Financial Services Marketing positions against last year and, across the entire Elevation division, over a third of all of the roles filled in October and November were with Manufacturing SMEs.
“Growth across all industries is evident as economic conditions improve, but in recent months we have seen a substantial increase in the number of new roles being created in SME Manufacturing organisations and financial service providers,” she said. “Particularly in terms of sales and marketing positions.
“We’ve seen a high volume of marketing, sales engineers and export sales roles across Yorkshire and we continue to see a steady increase in the number of opportunities across all sectors. It’s a busy time in recruitment, and we’re keen to develop strong working partnerships with businesses across Yorkshire to help speed up the economy’s recovery.”
