Expanding talent at BDO in East Midlands

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP welcomes a new partner and ten new starters in the East Midlands. The team is also celebrating six of its trainees being awarded some of the best results in the country following their professional exams.

Partner Chris Bond joins to head up the tax team at BDO across the East Midlands. He has previously worked in the firm’s London and Birmingham offices and has more than 20 years experience in corporation tax planning for both local and international companies. He will work closely alongside partner Fraser Goodall.

Greg Knowles, James Dennis and Reza Mohidin have been appointed as audit seniors, having previously worked at Page Kirk LLP, Smith Cooper and London firm Numera Partners respectively.

Other new starters include Edward Stittle, George Robertson, Samuel Fowler, Adam Cutts, Charan Tamber, Tom Briggs and Guy Sen-Oliver. They all join the firm on the BDO graduate programme and will gain firsthand experience working with clients across the region and in a range of sectors.

In addition, six of BDO’s trainees have achieved superb results in their recent ICAS, ACCA and Advanced Stage exams, highlighting their determination to succeed and the quality of the firm’s training. They are Siobhan Haslehurst, Alice Shipman, Tom Jackson, Kerrie Banks, Andreas Christodoulou and Megan Thomas.

Tom Jackson came second overall in the country, earning him an ICAS Award for his achievement and an invite to the special prize winners’ ceremony in Edinburgh, while Kerrie Banks received one of the highest results in the East Midlands in her ACCA qualifications.

Gareth Singleton, partner at BDO LLP, commented: “Following the successful merger of BDO LLP and PKF LLP earlier in the year, it’s been an exciting six months. Now with 400 people based in the Midlands across our Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham and Lincoln offices, we not only provide the depth of local expertise that ambitious businesses in the region deserve, but also great opportunities for our people.

“We’re delighted to have Chris Bond on board, who brings with him a wealth of experience, and we welcome all our new starters. We are also really proud of what our trainees have achieved. Developing young, intelligent new talent is vital to the future of our business. I’m so pleased their hard work and commitment has paid off.”
