Hotel micro-stays company to expand operations in the north

The boss of a hospitality company specialising in hotel micro-stays has revealed ambitious plans to expand into the north of England.

Dayuse Hotels, who offer businesses the opportunity to book daytime slots for hotel rooms, will bolster their UK operations in 2014 in Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds, as well as Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Dayuse currently offer the service in 30 hotels in London, and operate in 10 different countries, having launched in Paris three years ago.

David Lebée, general manager of Dayuse Hotels, said: “Having seen the global results for London since the beginning of 2013, it is logical to spread to other big cities in the UK.”

The company is investing €200,000 into the expansion drive, and, “we will open a UK office in London to facilitate our geographical development in the country”, says Lebée.

The target for Dayuse is for an additional 100 UK hotels to be signed up next year, for an estimated additional turnover of €1.5 million.

The company have revealed they are also in negotiations with several airlines and concierge desks with a view to developing a partnership that would promote this type of hotel stay.

Dayuse has more than 600 hotels globally, taking an average of 5,600 bookings per month. The company’s growth rate is over 130% for 2012/13.

Daytime slots can be booked with a discount of 30-70% of the price of a night. Dayuse say they offer business people the opportunity of hosting an informal meeting in their room, or simply to relax and recharge their batteries.
