How to build your audience as an e-Book publisher
Congratulations, you’ve finished your masterpiece. The hard work is over, right? Wrong. As a writer embarking into the world of self-publishing, you will know there is an awful lot of legwork still left to do.
Frightening though it may seem, putting in the time and effort will ensure you have an engaged community of readers, ready and raring to go when it comes to the release of your book. How can you find your tribe of loyal followers amidst the vast world of bookworms? Try following a few simple steps to help you along.
Publicising
You must endeavour to stay at the forefront of people’s minds. Publicising means being present as much as possible, take risks and be daring! Host and attend book signings, write guest blogs on other writers’ sites, present at conferences. Really engage with your readers, make them know how valuable they are. Remember, these are the people who are going to be your strongest supporters once your book is published.
Soft sell, smoothly
If you aren’t riddled with excitement for your book, it’s a sure fact that no one else will be either. Come at your readers with unbridled enthusiasm and passion; show them what they will gain and enjoy from reading your work. Identify what it is that excites you about your literature and really work to get this across to your readers.
Give, give, and give…
…Until finally asking your readers to pay £5.99 for your book. Entice your readers with a free e-book snippet, demonstrating that you have valuable expertise in your field, or an exciting story to tell.
By engaging with your audience, you will create loyal fans, willing to support you in your future endeavours. You cannot expect a readership to form overnight, so make sure you begin this process before your book is published.
