Newcastle Law Firm, Mincoffs has appointed Monica Sermeño to its commercial team which deals with a broad spectrum of contractual issues for clients operating in sectors including software, digital, media and engineering.

Monica joins Mincoffs from Siemens Plc where she worked in the legal team for 5 years as a Contract Manager focussing on areas including infrastructure and renewable energy.

Earlier this year, she was part of the winning in-house legal team for the Legal 500 Technology Award.

Maersk Training has appointed Stuart Cameron, formally manager of the firm’s Newcastle operations, as UK managing director.

Stuart brings almost 20 years of experience in renewables, construction and industrial support services. Prior to joining Maersk Training, he was head of global sales and marketing at Romax Technology, a leading provider of advanced simulation technologies, design expertise and consulting services for gearbox and driveline systems.

Claus Bihl, CEO of Maersk Training, said: “The number of trainees at the Newcastle training centre increased tenfold under Cameron’s stewardship. We are convinced that Stuart will bring this success into all our UK operations.”

Sunderland CCTV firm, Hadrian Technology, has added to its team with the appointment of a graduate itern from the University of Sunderland.

25-year-old Andrew Dodd from Newcastle joins as part of the University’s Graduate Internship Scheme, and Hadrian hope to eventually employ him full time.

General manager, Gary Trotter, said: “Having a graduate like Andrew on board means we have a valuable extra pair of hands, the skills he has brought from his degree - like hitting deadlines, thinking strategically and having a keen eye for detail, means we can trust him as one of us from day one.”

“Andrew is now the youngest employee in the company which was established in 1999. The demand for CCTV specialists’ means we are growing each year. We are currently preparing to recruit four new employees in the New Year, which is positive considering the downturn that some businesses have faced in recent years.”
