Family business drives growth with North West appointment
A North East garage equipment supplier has made the move to open up more business further afield with the appointment of another North West-based engineer.
This summer, 27-year-old Tim Dabbs took up his new role at Gott Technical Services in a busy year of recruitment for the company which has seen them take on six new members of the team.
Prior to joining the team in June, Tim worked for one of the largest garage equipment specialists in the UK for two years, where the majority of the servicing he was involved with was on large ‘brownfield’ industrial and commercial sites, on a national scale.
Despite being based primarily in the North West, Tim has UK-wide coverage. He said: “I attend jobs anywhere from Newcastle and Durham all the way to Yorkshire, Leicester, Birmingham and even London.
“There is huge variety in my day-to-day role – I could be called out for a day or be required to stay a week depending on the task-at-hand, but I enjoy the travelling. The range of Gott’s clients is also really refreshing as we work across smaller independent and larger multi-site contracts.
“In addition, the move has allowed me to expand my engineering expertise with a different garage equipment manufacturer as Gott Technical Services works with the Rotary and Technique brands.”
Tim’s appointment marked an important milestone for director Ian Gott who is looking to expand the service area of Gott Technical Services – including the North West region.
Ian said: “Since joining our team, Tim has certainly bedded in well and relieved a lot of pressure from the engineers we have based at our headquarters in Morpeth who serve the North East in the main.
“As well as our local clients, we work with a number of dealerships who have sites outside the region so Tim’s arrival has meant we can expand our capacity into the North West predominantly, and beyond. It stands us in great stead to move into 2014 and further strengthen our seven-strong engineer operation.”
